My Wishlist

Journal purging! Burn the posts, burn 'em all! Mwaha.

Anyway, a fresh start and a new project. This is kind of shameful to bring out into the open, yet at the same time, I might actually get something out of it. It's a long shot, but let's see.

If you've looked at my gallery (and chances are, if you're reading this, you either have or are planning to), you'll notice that I do a lot of simple, abstract images. This is for a very simple reason. It isn't a choice of art style. Rather, anytime my pencil touches a piece of paper, the result looks like a stick figure dipped in gravy.

So, what I'm going to be running in my journal and signature is a wishlist of sorts. I have a lot -- well over a hundred -- of characters I RP with or write fiction regarding, and very few of which have original images. I have no money for commissions and I'm somewhat indisposed to spending gratitious amounts of cash on pencil scribblings, as I've many a time been offered. (Why, yes. $200 does seem reasonable for something that took you half an hour to sketch. HAH.)

This is by no means begging, per se. I'm simply going to put out ideas for character images, with some notes on backgrounds, colors, etc. In essence, I'll describe characters or scenarios that I can visualize, but not give life to, and someone may take up that particular crusade if they wish.

Notes:

1) All I ask is to be given credit for the character concept and the right to use it for Internet or personal purposes. I will never claim ownership of the image itself.

2) The image may be redistributed in any other fashion to the artist's content. If they desire to use the character portrait for their own purposes, such as publishing, Internet use, prints, etc., they are more than free to.

3) I'm aware of the costs of professional art pencils and coloring supplies, such as Prismacolors, or the electronic media types such as Adobe Photoshop. I'm not trying to take away the money from needy artists. Nor was my comment above meant to mock them necessarily. I once e-mailed an artist on Elfwood and he offered me a pencil sketch for $200 USD. I'd seen what he called sketches. They weren't worth one-thousand packages of ramen noodles, which is what I measure currency in, as a college student rather short of funding. That's not what I'm about. I'm simply making a general appeal to any artists with spare time, limited inspiration, or whatever may drive them to look for work out of the goodness of their heart.

Following this post, there will be a few additional posts with those characters, scenarios, and such. This post will be linked to them to explain the concept and notes. All concepts will also be linked to this post to provide reference.
